Confetti Cone

  • Clue 1
Can you re-arrange the letters on the confetti to make a word?
  • Clue 2
This is an anagram. Re-arrange the letters to spell out an ingredient on the cake recipe. The answer is the number of cups of that ingredient specified on the recipe.
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 3. The letters spell out BUTTER. The recipe specifies three cups of butter.

The Maze

  • Clue 1
Find the only maze entrance which leads to the middle of the maze.
  • Clue 2
Which food is next to the correct maze entrance?
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 9. The only maze entrance which leads to the center of the maze is the one next to the blueberries. Refer back to the recipe and you need nine blueberries.

The Balloons

  • Clue 1
The answer in the middle segment of the two balloons is worked out by doing math with the numbers in the top and bottom balloons.
  • Clue 2
To get the number in the middle segment, you’ll need to times the two numbers in each balloon together, then add together your two answers.
  • Reveal the answer
    Answer = 20. So 6 x 1 = 6 (the top balloon). 7 x 2 = 14 (the bottom balloon). Add both numbers together and you'll get 20 ( 6 + 14). The same formula works for all of the other balloons.

The Birthday Cake

  • Clue 1
On the cake, there are 11 flames in total with letters in them. Underneath you have a set of 5 flames and a set of 6 flames (11 in total). Could this signify that you need to use the letters to make two words?
  • Clue 2
The two words you are looking for are an ingredient on 'The Best Birthday Cake' recipe.
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 10. The letters in the flames spell out CREAM CHEESE. The recipe specifies 10 cups of cream cheese.

The Birthday Riddle

  • Clue 1
If Peter is three times as old as his sister and he is fifteen years old, this makes his sister five years old.
  • Clue 2
In one year, Sophie will be 6 and Peter will be 16. This does not work (6 times 2 is 12, not 16, so Peter will not be twice Sophie's age at this point). Keep trying this for 2 years' time, 3 years' time etc.
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 20. In five years' time, Sophie will be 10 years old and Peter will be 20 years old (twice Sophie's age).

The Party Invitation

  • Clue 1
You will need the cipher to work out what these letters tell you to do.
  • Clue 2
The cipher you need is at the bottom of the maze on puzzle 2 (it has 6 cakes above it to signify that it is for puzzle 6). Feed the letters on the invitation into the cipher. The 'W' will be a 'C', the 'U' an 'O' and so on.
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 13. The letters, once fed into the cipher (underneath the maze), tell you to count the total number of balloons. There is 1 on the invite, 6 math balloons (puzzle 3) and 6 on 'The Best Birthday Cake' recipe. This makes 13 in total.

The Picture Puzzle

  • Clue 1
What are the pictures? For example, picture 1 is a COAT. If you minus '@' (AT), you are left with CO. Continue like this.
  • Clue 2
So COAT - AT + DEER - ER = CODE. ISLAND - LAND = IS. Can you get the last word?
  • Reveal the answer
Answer = 10. After you have worked out the first two words (explained in clue 1 and clue 2), you are left with TENT - T (you are looking at a cup of Tea). So CODE IS TEN.
