The Christmas Trees
-
Clue 1You will come to the number in the star between the two trees by doing something with the two numbers on each tree.
-
Clue 2Add the numbers in the top tree together. Then the numbers in the bottom tree. Now what could you do with these two numbers to reach your answer. For example, in the first set of trees, 2 + 2 = 4. Then 1 + 2 = 3. You now have a 4 and a 3. How could you make 12 out of these two numbers? Will this approach work for the second set of trees?
-
Reveal the answer36. You add the two numbers together in the top tree (1 + 5 = 6). Then the two numbers together in the bottom tree (4 + 2 = 6). Then, multiply your two numbers together (6 x 6 = 36). This approach will work for the other two trees as well.
