Puzzle 1 - Camping

  • Clue 1
    Can you see another sheet of paper with marshmallows on and the same logo and 'CAMP' flag? You'll need this to work out the answer.
  • Clue 2
    Start at the marshmallow on the grid on puzzle 1. Use a pen to trace a line, following the instructions on the second sheet of paper (see 'Clue 1'). Do you see a shape forming?
  • Reveal the answer
    5. Use a pen to trace a line from the marshmallow on the grid, as per the instructions on the other sheet of paper (see 'Clue 1'). So 1 up, 4 to the right, 4 up etc. This will form the shape of a number '5'.

Puzzle 2 - The Ice Cream Van

  • Clue 1
    Can you see the palm tree, crab and paraglider on a second sheet of paper? You will need this to solve the code.
  • Clue 2
    The blackboard on the ice cream van says "BEST ICE CREAMS HERE". It says the code is "18533" but you know it can't be more than two digits. On the second sheet of paper (see 'Clue 1') you have "9321 043 453672 8353" written on a blackboard. There are the same number of letters on the first blackboard as numbers on the second. Could each letter represent a number - and could you use this information to break the code on the ice cream cone?
  • Reveal the answer
    THREE. "BEST ICE CREAMS HERE" has the same number of letters as "9321 043 453672 8353" does numbers. So you can work out that the 1 is a T using 'BEST' and '9321', 8 is an H using 'HERE' and '8353', 5 is an R using using 'HERE' and '8353' again and 3 is an E using 'BEST' and '9321'. So CODE 18533 = THREE.

Puzzle 3 - Beach Balls

  • Clue 1
    Follow the coloured bunting from each beach ball and work out which letter is in your code word, using the key at the bottom of the page.
  • Clue 2
    For example, in the first set of balls, if you follow the bunting you will find that A and N are not in your word, but O is. And O is also in the correct place. So your word is 'mystery letter' 'mystery letter' 'O'. Keep doing this for each set of balls until you find out which three letters are in your code word and the order they go in.
  • Reveal the answer
    TWO. You know from the first set of balls that 'O' is in the word and is in the right place. From the second set, you find out you have a 'T', too, but it is in the wrong place. The third set of balls show you that you have a 'W'. So now you just need to work out that your code is 'TWO'.

Puzzle 4 - The BBQ

  • Clue 1
    It's a word search. Remember, you're looking for a number.
  • Clue 2
    How many cans of soda are there on the bench? Could this be a clue to the number you're searching for?
  • Reveal the answer
    Sixteen. The word is diagonal and starts four squares to the right (from the top) and four squares down. The number of soda cans on the bench was a clue to the number you were looking for!

Puzzle 5 - The Mountains

  • Clue 1
    You'll need a second sheet of paper to crack this code. Can you see mountains anywhere else?
  • Clue 2
    Your holiday photos hold the key. What is each photo showing and is there a letter in the corresponding picture on puzzle 5?
  • Reveal the answer
    NINE. The first tent photo is taken where the 'N' is (on puzzle 5). The second photo of the signpost has an 'I' in it. The third photo is of the hot air balloon where there is an 'N'. The final photo of the fire has an 'E' in it on puzzle 5. This spells out NINE.

Puzzle 6 - The Swimming Pool

  • Clue 1
    The two women in the rubber rings are the same in the first sum. If the answer is 2, each woman must represent a number 1.
  • Clue 2
    We have worked out that the woman in the rubber ring = 1. If the answer to the second equation is '5' and we know it is 'man in rubber ring' - 1, then the man can only be 6.
  • Reveal the answer
    12. Once we have worked out what the man and the woman represent (see Clue 1 and Clue 2), we are only left with the dog. If 'dog' + 'dog' = 4, the only number the dog can be is 2. So, dog (2) x man (6) = 12.

Puzzle 7 - The Water Park

    Why are there letters on each item floating in the water?
  • Clue 2
    The letters are an anagram. Rearrange them to make a word. Remember, you need a number.
  • Reveal the answer
    The letters on the items floating in the water, when rearranged, spell out 'ELEVEN'.
